My professional life was inspired by a PLGR (a GPS unit the Marine Corps used that was the size, weight, and utility of a brick). My PLGR never left the bottom of my backpack and instead I used a small and effective Garmin over multiple deployments. And ever since then I’ve been on a mission to improve government acquisitions so that other deployed Americans could go into harm's way with the best equipment available. This journey to improve a system took me to McKinsey & Co to learn how businesses operate and create equipment, to Harvard Law School to understand the legal and regulatory factors influencing acquisitions, and “down range” again as a contractor to understand the system first hand.
For the last ten years I have become actively involved in the startup to government intersection running incubators for govtech, building and delivering federal market education through Federal Foundry and tools like FedScout, working and advising for DoD agencies on their startup engagement and acquisitions reform initiatives, and now as a venture partner at J2 helping our portfolio access and grow in the federal market.
I have a J.D. from Harvard Law School.
