Jenn Cable is the President of Thorlabs, Inc., a leader in the Photonics industry. Thorlabs provides tools, instruments, and systems to academic, government, public and private sector R&D labs and delivers industry leading solutions to Photonics-enabled applications. As President, Jenn has expanded the companies’ global footprint, entering new technology and application areas, with a focus on Quantum Technologies, Optical Telecommunications, factory floor automation, and environmental sensing. Jenn has led operational transformation with a focus on automation, modernization, and scaling, while de-risking and onshoring critical supply chains and furthering a vertical integration strategy to support precision manufacturing.
Jenn is a board member of the American Center for Optics Manufacturing, AmeriCOM, and is a vocal supporter of precision and advanced manufacturing in the USA and workforce development efforts.
She is also an Executive Advisor to the International Society for Optics Photonics (SPIE). As a board member and advisor, Jenn has provided guidance and resources to drive environmental and social governance throughout the industry. Her passion for the environment has led Thorlabs to invest significantly in decreasing its carbon footprint and demonstrating the importance of clean manufacturing capabilities and the transformative potential of Photonics solutions to the climate crisis. Jenn is also an advocate for creating a more diverse and inclusive workforce in the Photonics industry.
